Why You Should List Your Home During the Winter Season

While preparing for the holidays, cooking your Thanksgiving feast, and spending time with your school-free children will take up most of your spare time this holiday season, it is easy to put projects on the back burner. This includes listing your home that you have been planning to sell, but is that the best idea?

Stand Out: During the summer is when everyone is looking to move or sell because the rationale is that doing big moves between school sessions is easier. By selling during the winter your home can stand out and you avoid all the competition of similar homes that would be for sale during the summer.

Sell Faster: A study by an online brokerage firm found that homes for sale in the winter are on the market an average of 26 days, compared to 33 days during non-winter seasons.

Schedule Easier: With other seasons being busier for selling, this makes everyone involved in the process busy, stressed, and tense. Realtors, home inspectors, title companies, banks, and appraisers are each a step in the selling process. During the winter things aren’t as hectic and as tense and that makes the whole process much easier, less stressful, and easier to schedule.

Homeward Real Estate would like to wish everyone a wonderful and safe holiday season.
